Faculty of Medicine Flow Cytometry Facility

Established in 1982,  The University of Toronto's  Faculty of Medicine Flow Cytometry Facility began operations with a Beckman Coulter Epics Elite cell sorter under the direction of Dr. Jack Hay.  Since that time, the Facility has provided educational and technical services to the greater Toronto scientific community.    Now under the direction of Dr. Tania Watts, the facility has considerably expanded from having a single cell sorter to operating three BD FACS Caliburs, a BD FACS Aria three laser cell sorter, an  8-colour BD FACS Canto II and a 13 -colour BD LSR II.

The Facility provides essential core services to a large research community and is a vital asset to investigators whose studies span a wide range of interests including studies in stem cell development, spinal cord injury and immunological disorders such as HIV and autoimmunity.
