My scientific interest lays in the understanding of the regulation of immune responses and specifically CD8+ T cell activation, differentiation and development. My work has been focused in the regulation of signalling transduction pathways during CD8+ T cell activation. I study the functional implications of CD28-dependent translational control during T cell activation using a genetic approach through the analysis of the 4E-BP1/2 double deficient mice. I am also interested in understanding the interaction between translational control mechanisms and mitochondrial activity during CD8+ T cell activation. Additionally, I investigate the role of the SH3BP2 adapter protein in regulating TCR signaling during CD8+ T cell activation and differentiation.
